THE BEST LIGHT FOR APPLYING MAKEUP

How is the lighting where you apply your makeup?  Are you applying your makeup in a bathroom or bedroom with one bright light above your head? Is that one overhead light casting some pretty bad shadows on your facial features, making it difficult for you to judge how much color to apply to your eyes, lips and cheeks?

Understanding proper lighting and using that lighting while applying your makeup makes a big difference in how your makeup looks. The better your face is lit, the more even your makeup application will be, helping you to achieve a pretty and natural finish. Beware if you are applying your makeup in a dimly-lit room - it is easy to overdo your application.

So when possible try to apply your makeup in a well-lit area. It is very helpful to be by a window for natural light.   Natural daylight is the very best light for checking your makeup blending skills and intensity of the colors you've applied. In natural daylight, it is easy to see if you need to add color in some areas or tone down the amount of color in other areas. You can check your makeup application by looking in a mirror either next to a window or by going outside. "I have had to prepare many poorly-lit areas for makeup application in my 18+ years as a makeup artist, even removing lamp shades to get better lighting on the face of my subject! If your makeup application looks great in natural daylight, it will look great in most other settings, even in fluorescent office lights or soft evening lights.

Once you've settled yourself near a good light for applying your makeup, here's another helpful tip. For best results during your makeup application, while holding your mirror to apply your makeup be sure to turn your face (and mirror) up toward the light source, whether your light source is a lightbulb or the the natural daylight outside a window. By doing this, you can achieve an even coverage of light on your face while you apply your makeup so that no shadows will distort the amount of color you apply.  For example when applying blusher, if one side of your face is in a shadow and one side of your face is in the light, you might be tempted to apply more blush on the side in the shadow because there is little light on that side of your face and you're unable to clearly see the amount of color you have already applied.

Of course, sometimes it is not possible to apply or at least check your makeup in natural daylight. In these cases, try to find the brightest indoor lighting possible.  Then use the above tip of turning your face and mirror toward the light source so that there are no shadows on your face while you apply your makeup.

When you're aware of the lighting around you before applying your makeup, you will have the best results with your makeup application.

In CHANDLER, Ariz , therea a theif who love to steal makeup from a well known drug store chain and has stolen approximately $10,000 worth of cosmetic merchandise from Walgreens stores around Chandler and neighboring cities for over two years.

He recently make an appearance after a six month break.
he is known as Blue Basket Bandit as his typical routine is to enters the store, picks up a blue shopping basket and proceeds to the cosmetics section where he removes various cosmetics.

He then removes a Walgreens plastic bag from his pocket and transfers the cosmetics from the basket to the bag.

The thief then walks out without paying.

Police said the Blue Basket Bandit often changes his appearance and will use different vehicles for each theft.

I think he steal to sell it for a profit.Maybe after the six month of selling it his product finish so he come back to steal the cosmetic makeup.

Applying lip liner can be difficult. Start at the center of your upper lip, draw a line to each outer corner, following the edge of your natural lip line. If you go outside from the natural lip line, use a damp Q-Tip to blot out the unwanted color and reapply. Lipstick is to load your lipstick brush with color and brush inwards from the corners of your mouth. To give your lips the Cupid’s bow shape, lay the brush flat to paint a 'V' shape or curve. Apply a lip base, like Cargo Lip Base, prior to your lip makeup application. This will condition your lips and prep them for color.
If you are wearing lipstick, use a lip liner first and then fill in with the same liner.

Hair Color-Most people can successfully color their hair at home but there are exceptions. You should get a professional color job if your hair is in poor condition - coloring dry damaged hair at home can result in uneven color. Also, if your hair has different shades and you want one even tone, a hairdresser can apply different formulas to the different areas. Finally, it's best to leave it to the experts if you want to make a drastic change to your hair color, say dark brown to platinum blonde, or you want special color effects or highlights.

3. Appropriate makeup-Wear makeup that is appropriate for the occasion. If you are going to the beach you shouldn't wear the same or as much makeup as you would if you were going dancing. Also, when you are in daylight your makeup should be lighter than when you are out for the evening. start with foundation, add mascara, blush or lipstick. If you are not used to wearing makeup, using a lot at first may be a little too much for you, so start slowly.

9. The purpose of eye shadow is to shape and accentuate the eye, not color it. Do not overuse eye shadow. The face looks more attractive when you use natural colors

10. Never go to bed with your makeup on. When the makeup is left on overnight it will clog the pores. It prevents the skin from shedding and may cause blemishes and/or blackheads. The skin needs to breathe overnight.

Blush

Smile, take a blush brush and apply a shade of blush to your cheeks. After this part, sweep the brush back into the hairline. This will make your face glow.

This is the basics of make-up application. There are many colors and tools to experiment. Find your look and remember, applying make-up is an art which makes you look your best.

Now of course this is not the only way to apply makeup but the way I believe works the best. However if you want to play up the lips by using a brighter or darker shade of lipstick then do your lips first and eyes last. This way you won't over power the other.

How to Pluck Your Eyebrows

Plucking eyebrows is common for looking good, hot and sexy for all the women. Almost all the woman believes that their eyes speak the language they want. Tips for eyebrow tweezing / plucking

1.Do not tweeze too much. Generally most women commit this mistake. If you will tweeze too much your brows will grow in months long time or so, which you are not expecting from your eyebrows. To find your brow take a long eye shadow brush or pencil and hold it parallel to the side of your nose. The point where brush or pencil meets your brows is the point where your brow begins.

2.Now extend the brush diagonally from your nostril followed by the outer edge of your eye. The point at which the inside edge of brush hits is the point where your brow ends.

3.If your brows are making the slight arc then you have the best brow. Hold the brush or pencil parallel to the iris (iris defines the colors of the eyes; black / brown / green, etc). The point at which the brush or pencil meets is the highest part of your brows.

4.Do clean skin. Brush your brows up and out.

5.Use a good pair of tweezers to tweeze your brows. Use magnifying mirror and do the task in perfect bright light.

6.Do not tweeze to many hairs at a time. Pluck hairs in the direction they grow. Hold the skin taut as you pluck, this will make the task easy.

7.If you want both top and bottoms to be smooth as much as you can, you can pluck the top AND the bottom.

8.Do not over pluck your brows. Plucking with proper care and in limitations is as important as tweezing or plucking.

9.Once plucking is done, apply some good quality gel to remove redness etc. Applying gel will make your eyes calm and finish irritation due to tweezing or plucking.

Important:

1. Always wipe your tweezers with alcohol and check that if your tweezers is making a firm grip or not. Do not use dull tweezers.

2.If you have spares or spotty brow, fill these with brown shadow.

3.For filling of brown shadow, use pencil and press the brown shadow against the brow. Now gently rub brows with a brush or finger balls to do softening.

4.Use brow gels to keep your brows in place all day long.

5.The perfect time for the brow shaping is the week after your period begins.

To give luster to your skin tone, blend the blusher well over your cheekbones. A touch of golden color will make you dark skinned glamorous and gorgeous on special occasions. If you want to use eyeshades, prefer soft brown with a darker brick brown. Say no to light colors and whites. For upper eyelids, use light brown. In the tuck of eyelid, use dark brown and drag it slightly outward. This will give depth to your eyes.

If you want to try on more color, choose from dark blue, wine or purple eyeshades to line your eyes, closer to the eyelashes. You also can line the eyelids with dark blue, dark grey, wine or purple color. Do softening of the lines with a soggy brush or with a sponge tipped applicator. Outline the eyes with kaajal using kaajal pencil. Kaajal makes your eyes appealing and cool and this will extremely good on Asians and especially Indian women. You also can do Mascara to thicken the eyelashes. Mascara will give glamorous look to you.

For your lipstick choose colors like copper, bronze, dark red, wine and burgundy. You can use a single color or a blend of two colors according to your skin color. For nighttime use darker colors. Do not use lipstick in excess. It will be good, if your lip color will match to your nail colors. Try to maintain a balance between your eyes and lip color so that one does not look heavy on other.

Proper balance and color blending is important for color makeup. It is as equally important as your clothing.

Have you ever stopped to consider the Huge decision and statement that come into consideration each morning when making your lipstick color selection? Stepping out and facing the world with the color you choose is a major undertaking if you look at it as I do. It can and does project you personality and ego to the very core. So am I scarring you now? This is certainly only my opinion(expert in my mind) as to the daunting task of facing the world with my Lipstick color daily.

So suppose I choose to step my Red Pump out the door with my Red Lips…Do you have a picture in your mind. CONFIDENCE! and maybe just a little assertive although not obviously in your face. Looking to get what you want without anyone knowing? Try some Red lips with a Black Sassy suit in the am. You will not be disappointed with the outcome.

We had an over abundance of snow today. Excuse me! I live in St.Louis and OH! Did someone miss the calendar saying MARCH? Orange Lipstick is on me today always toned down but still orange. Rebelling AND where is the Sun? On my lips and in my heart. My very own personal picture of Orange. This color exudes happiness blended with just a slight bit of adventure. No Reserve and No need…because you feel comfortable in your Orange. What a Bold color.

Pink is always FUN. Gotta love that girl’s music. It’s so girly, rebellious and yet a bit demure. My thoughts often go to a silly place that is so Hot with a bright, over the top pink which some women seem to think is their personal red. I salute you. Makes me smile. Often girls in Pink seem to be assertive while being flirty. Not something I ever mastered although I enjoy watching them in action. Lesson learned.

Berry is reserved when I am looking to fade into the wall. It is very safe and may make you feel as though you are not committed…to anything. Great gym color although I would not consider it unless I have on some faboulous burgundy new shirt. Make it real deep though and play like a rock star.

Browns…Interesting enough I really love them. Browns make me think of power, wisdom and generally on top of my game. Browns remind me of the person that geniunuely knows something that I need to learn. You know a secret that I know I want to hear.

The trick lies in choosing the right blush color and learning how to apply blush correctly. But often blush remains the most misused makeup cosmetic. When it comes to applying your blush, less is best. Learn simple tips and tricks to get the blush just right!

Apply Blush Make up

Using small strokes, softly sweep the blusher brush up the cheekbone towards the hairline. Use a good blush brush.

For an especially realistic look apply a bit of blusher across the top of the forehead, the chin and the bridge of your nose.

Apply blush by brushing the cheek color lightly over the apple of the cheek using short, up-and-down vertical strokes moving toward the top of your ear in a teardrop shape with the thinner part at the top and the wider part pointing toward your nose.

Blend into your foundation and at the hairline, with one soft horizontal motion on the top of the vertical strokes, without brushing any color onto the hair.

There are many different kinds of blush (sometimes known as rouge, but you love the word blush because the way you apply the color is to give the impression that you are blushing, that you have a flush of color).

Blush comes in powder, liquid or cream. I prefer a water based cream blush for the first application in the morning, and the powder blush for re-touching during the day, because the cream blush goes on smoothly, is absorbed nicely into your skin, and will last for some time, and you can put powder blush over it anytime during the day.

If you start out your day with powder blush, you cannot retouch with the cream because it will cake and/or blotch on your face. Always start by using a little blusher and gradually build color to get the desired effect. Remember, it is always easier to add more to get the vibrant look. Also, if you apply powder blush on skin that has only foundation on it, it may splotch-the moisture in your skin will grabm it in different places and it will be so spotty, chances are you'll have to start allover again.

Make sure your area is well lit for doing makeup. Consider getting a lighted makeup mirror. Prepare for your makeup by washing your face, brushing your teeth, and putting on any foundations, coverups, and bronzers you may use.

Swipe your brush over your cheek about three times, making strokes back and forth or round and round. Put a big smile on your face so your cheeks perk up (these are the apples of your cheeks) and you may even see some dimples. Place the brush over your cheeks and make strokes with the brush from your cheeks (towards your nose) to the side of your face (towards your ears). Move the brush in a circular fashion as well before going to do the other side of your face.

Exfoliation Apply an exfoliating face pack over the whole face, not forgetting the neck, and avoiding the eye and lip areas (Follow the product-specific instructions), later remove the face pack with water and pat the face dry, without rubbing. 3. Moisturising First apply a moisturising tonic if your skin is dry or normal, and a descaling cleansing tonic if your skin is combination or greasy. Apply it over totally dry skin with a cotton pad in small touches without spreading it, so as not to irritate the skin. Apply eye contour treatment if you need it, or if you normally use it. Apply a moisturising serum for your skin-type (this is normally sold in ampoules at the chemist’s. Most make-up brands also produce different serums according to skin type) Finally, apply the moisturising cream over the whole face, once the serum has been properly absorbed. THE KEY STEP: The most important step here is the exfoliation, as skin normally appears dull and lifeless when there are dead skin cells that need removing. You should do the cleansing and moisturising steps daily (except for the serum which would be for specific occasions, according to the indications on the product used). 2. A trick for correcting acne, eye rings and skin blemishes. The corrector/concealer is the star product here, but if you don’t have one, we are adding a trick to be able to use foundation instead of corrector. Eye rings Apply foundation the way you normally would (foundation should be liquid or in a cream texture) once you are done, apply the foundation with a synthetic-hair brush, once again on the eye ring region. When you finish, using a large powder puff, apply a little loose powder that is lighter than your makeup base. Apply the powder in small touches and in tiny quantities, so as not to produce folds in such a delicate area. For acne or facial blemishes Just as in the last step, but in the area you need to correct, here the powder you apply should be the same tone as the foundation, or totally transparent. With this step what you have done is concentrate the foundation over the area to be corrected. An easy guide to knowing what skin-type you have These are the most common skin types; pay attention to the characteristics of each, and identify your skin type. The best thing is always to consult a dermatologist or aesthetician. DRY SKIN The skin feels dry and tight. Wrinkles appear easily, and it has no grease unless you moisturise. Dry skin normally has a soft aspect, with small pores. It’s uncommon for it to have blackheads or zits. Dryness may increase or decrease depending on the environment, the weather, computers, air conditioning. One way of determining the skin’s dryness is to take it between thumb and fingers, pushing it up and then letting it go. If it snaps back to place immediately, then it’s sufficiently moisturised, if there is a little delay, then it needs moisturising. To keep this skin soft and smooth, you need highly moisturising products, products with nutrients, moisturising face packs and eye contour treatment for day and night. Soaps should be avoided as they tend to dry up the skin. The same goes for products that contain alcohol. NORMAL SKIN Normal skin is neither greasy nor dry, and tends not to have zits. The skin is perfect and appears fresh and smooth. This perfect-looking skin has small pores, and can be a little greasier in the T zone. This skin-type is not very common among adults, but can be found among almost all children. People with this skin-type should use products specially for normal-to-sensitive skin in order to maintain this type of skin. They should avoid products that contain alcohol. COMBINATION SKIN Combination skin has a greasy area: the T zone, and is normal over the cheeks and neck. One needs to choose products very carefully. Moisturising a lot, and avoid drying the skin, putting a particular emphasis on cleanliness. GREASY SKIN Greasy skin tends to appear dull, and have blackheads. This skin is constantly producing grease. Greasy skin keeps young for longer. This skin type should be treated with specific, oil-free products but that should be sufficiently moisturising. Besides this, cleansing should be done with cleansing face packs, together with other products for greasy-skin care. The quality of this type of skin will vary from one day to the next, depending on external factors such as tobacco, stress, weather, food, etc. SENSITIVE SKIN Irritated blood vessels below the skin are typical in sensitive skin. Skin often feels dry and gets irritated very easily. Perfumed products and soaps can irritate this type of skin. Even products specially designed for sensitive skin can cause inflammation. The only way to find the right kind of product for it is to try them out beforehand. Products should be tried out on the inside of the arm, as any potential reaction will not be as strong here as on the face. Sensitive skin is most common among blonde or red-haired people. Recommended products for this skin-type are gentle and very moisturising ones. Avoid very perfumed products or those that contain alcohol. Sensitive skin should not be overly exposed to the sun or to very warm temperatures. 4. Tricks for making yourself up in 10 minutes These are the steps to follow once the skin is totally clean and moist: Apply corrector in the areas that need it Put the foundation on Put the rouge on Put on eye pencil Put on mascara Put on lip pencil Put on lip gloss or balm And that’s it. You’ll be completely made up and with a natural and pleasant aspect. And yes, this make up should last all day, except of course on your lips, and besides, it should take you no more than 10 minutes to put on. Below we describe each step: -Apply corrector where necessary This step should take a few seconds, and the difference between doing it and not doing it can be significant. Those among you with perfect skin can avoid it, and just use it as an illuminator. I recommend using it before foundation, although there are products on the market which are meant to be used afterwards; it doesn’t matter, as the question is to correct these areas. The key thing here is to use the corrector in the areas where the foundation will not be able to unify the tone: a zit, a very noticeable eye ring. Once you are through you can switch to putting on the foundation. Put on the foundation Use a make-up sponge (with or without latex, according to preference and skin type) and moisten it (just lightly) so as to be able to spread it more quickly (naturally, I am referring here to liquid or cream foundation, which are the easiest and quickest to put on). For the liquid version, apply some on the upper part of your left hand (or the other way round if you are left-handed), and dab the liquid foundation lightly with the dampened sponge, but don’t pick it all up. Start to apply the foundation from the forehead towards the sides, next from the nose towards either side, then the chin towards either side and upwards, and lastly the neck and the ears, if you are short-haired. Once your whole face is made up, with another part of the sponge, go over the areas where you can see too much make-up, and spread it in small upward strokes. Put more emphasis on the areas that need correction most, for instance on the outer corner of the eye (this tends to go red) on the nostrils and around the lips. Applying rouge This is the easiest bit. Use a tone that flatters you and apply it on the cheekbone and on the mobile eyelid with a rouge brush, blending well so that it ends up looking natural, with a loose powder brush, or using the same rouge brush but with no product on. That's it. You can go to the next step now. Applying eye pencil This step is a perfect trick if you have few eyelashes or want to make them look thicker than they are. Sharpen the pencil, and for daytime makeup use one in dark brown or grey (for it to look more natural) and apply it in small touches (not in a line) among the lashes on the mobile lid, avoiding the tear duct area, and end up three or four lashes short of where the eye ends. The idea is that it look like we have more lashes, not like we are wearing mascara. If it is too noticeable, its because you have put too much product on. Don’t worry: just blend it out with a fine brush or a Q-tip. Applying mascara This is an indispensable step in make-up. I know that many of you don’t like mascara because you’ve got to remove it later, it runs, etc. The truth is that, yes, obviously you have to remove it in the end, but if you use a good mascara (for daytime it needn’t be water-resistant: normal ones come off easily) as well as protecting your eyelashes all day, it’ll come off when removed. A good trick is to always do the lower lashes first, to avoid staining the upper eyelid. Apply the mascara in zigzag fashion, then apply the mascara on the upper lashes, firstly downwards, then upwards. You needn’t put on too much mascara, as this is daytime make-up. You can use a dark brown mascara but as we are using so little colour in the face, I recommend the black, unless you’re a very light-blue-eyed blonde. Applying lipstick Although this is basic daytime makeup, I recommend not to forget the lips. If you’ve paid attention, you’ll have noticed that at no time did I say that I recommend making the lips up with foundation , since, the way I see it, foundation on the lips does not look very natural. Use a pencil very close in tone to your lip, tending towards the pink but with brown pigments, outline the lips and put some inside the lips also. This way it’ll last you a lot longer and you won’t need to use lipstick unless you so desire. Apply gloss or balm The pencil will normally tend to dry a bit, and to blend the colour in you’ll need a little gloss or balm, which one is up to you; balm is more moisturising and natural, and gloss makes your lips thicker and more juicy. Final touch Apply an illuminator (or if you don’t have one, a bit of white, semi-pearl powder will do) in the space below the eyebrow , at the top of the cheekbone, and on the chin, so as to light up the face in a very natural manner, making you look spectacular.

The top coat is what protects your nail polish. Prior to you apply the top coat, touch your nails and make sure they are wholly dry. A top coat gives nails an further added zap and appears more proficient. Top coat will also aid to prevent nail polish chipping and aid your nail polish to endure much longer. Empty your toiletry bag and put some order in it!

-Discard all broken products.

-Discard all products beyond their use-by date.

-Check the expiry date on each product. Make up products, once open, should be discarded according to their ingredients. Follow these guidelines:

-Mascara: about three-four months after opening. If you use it a lot it may be that it doesn’t even last three months.

-All texture products in powder form such as shadow, matt powders and foundation -last about two years.

-Foundation in cream form, correctors, shadows or rouges in cream form: these last about a year and a half.

-Lipsticks: about two years.

-Lip gloss: about two years. See when the color or texture changes; it is possible that if you have exposed it to temperature changes then it may have gone off.

-Check the product packaging, a symbol such as this one normally appears and besides it a number and M ( for months). The number tells you the number of months for which the product will last in a perfect state once opened. It is also important for you to ask when you buy. Products which last over 36 months will not have this symbol.

-Face creams and cleansers have different shelf lives, depending on their ingredients- They can last from 3 to 12 or 24 months.

Clean all your products with a damp towel, and dry them with a soft cloth. They will come out looking new.

Don’t forget to clean all your brushes, and you’ll see how much easier it is to put make up on. Here’s how:

Natural hair brushes.

Clean them with a mild shampoo, with a neutral fragrance.

Rinse them in cold or lukewarm water (avoid using hot water)

Apply a hair pack or intensive hair conditioner

Allow it to take effect for a few minutes.

Rinse again, until you are sure there is no remaining soap.

Synthetic-hair brushes

Clean your synthetic-hair brushes with a grease-removing product, such as washing-up liquid.

Rinse them in lukewarm water and ensure there is no remaining soap.

TIP: Always leave your brushes to dry on a towel; never let them dry vertically in a cup, as in this case the water would enter the brush’s handle and ruin it, besides which the hair will part.

New sponges and powder puffs

Buy new sponges and powder puffs. They are very accessible and you will feel as though you are trying out a whole range of products for the first time.

TOILETRY BAG
